Update: English and Czech translations added.
Club Felis is a game about cats partying at a nightclub. This is the cat’s very own nightclub and every week rough alley cats and posh “purebreds” mingle here and compete in the Cat of the Year competition (which is held every week). This is a playful and physical game which lasts for a few hours. The organizers should encourage the participants to find a body language which is somewhere inbetween cat and human. The game has so far not been translated to English. Please leave a message here or send us a mail if you are interested in hosting this game, and we’ll put you in contact with the creators of Club Felis.

How long till we see an English translation of this? It sounds interesting.

At the moment there are no immediate plans to translate Club Felis into English. However if there is a group in an English speaking country who wants to make a production of Club Felis that could be the push needed for us to make such a translantion (in understanding with the original creators of Club Felis whom we would have to consult). So if anyone wants to to this larp in Englis contact us!

If its translated, I might give it a go, since my fellow LARPers seem intrigued by the concept.

Hi, Since there seems to be interest in an English translation of this game I’ll contact the Swedish group who created Club Felis. If it’s OK with them I’ll publish an English translation here. It will probably be ready by the end of July.

Yeah, we did. We used most of original ideas, except place. We used New York (with mood of jazz, swing, blues) instead Brno (our city in Czech rep.). We didn´t use pre-made characters, but arranged 2-hour long character workshop for players focused on individual characters as well as group (posh and street) dynamics. And then another 2-hour long actor workshop about physical play and finding inner cat. After that every player chose 2 positive contact with another characters and 2 negative contact with another characters for basic social dynamics in larp.
Than we moved to very nice underground bar (part of our favourite caffeterie) and played for 3 hours game full of singing, dancing, Cat of the Year contests and some cat conflict interaction.
I think that whole game for 30 players (15 men, 15 women) was very sucessful. Based on main organiser feelings and feedbacks from players after game.

[…] Chamber Games is a blog and website dedicated to publishing short larps. Chamber Games publishes all the material and information you need to run several short larps in the Nordic style. The games require only a few hours and a small space like a single room to run, unlike larger larps who usually run for days and are only played once. Published larps include art exhibition larp New Voices in Art, abstract between-life-and-death Limbo and Artistocats style clubnight cat larp Club Felis. […]

Hello,
I am interested in running the game in Israel. Is it ok if I translate the game to Hebrew and make changes to characters?
I’d be happy to share the translation, once it is ready.

Hi, No problem. It’s great to see the cats travel the world! It would be good to have the hebrew translation linked here on this blog together with the other translations of this game.

[…] Club Felis … a ‘chamber game’ (I’m not sure about what exactly this signifies right now). This is a night club, for cats. Set in a slightly alternative universe, ruled by “cat non-logic”, the cats get together every week to dance, play, perform and compete for ‘Cat of the Year’ (which is awarded weekly). This sounds terrific. Opportunities for movement improvization, character performance and dance. […]
